Dr.Seuss (Theodore Geisel) never created limited edition prints during his lifetime. The rare authorized prints and sculptures on the market today are strictly posthumous, released by the Dr Seuss Estate to showcase his personal "Secret Art " and early works.
These licensed, authenticated editions are rare, highly sought after, and tightly controlled. The rarity of these pieces stems from several key factors:

The lithograph Measures 28-1/2" x 24-1/2" (sight) Frame measures 39-5/8" x 35-1/2". The lithograph is in very good condition. It is signed by the estate on lower left side and numbered 124/395 and blindstamped lower right bottom. It has conservation framing with triple matting and True Vue Museum glass. The black frame shows some handling wear to each of the 4 edges. The right top and bottom corners show the most damage with nicks and chips to the frame. Please view photos 13 through 16 where I took close up pictures of the frame wear. Aside from the 4 corner damages the frame is sturdy and presentable. There is a Miami, Florida frame shop label on the back.

I purchased this lithograph from a South Florida Auction House. It came with the frame wear and did not come with a Certificate of Authenticity. There is an old adhesive residue where the COA was attached to the back at one time but it was lost along the way. These lithographs sell between the 3 and 4 thousand range at galleries with COA's but I have priced this to reflect the absence of a Certificate of Authenticity. See less
