Based on the label, it is most likely to date from the 1980s to the 1990s. Italian masters achieved the look of layered white and aqua-blue by using glass rods in a molten gather, blowing them into a fluted mold to form the columns, and then, while the glass was still hot, pulling it outward to create the spectacular wavy, flower-petal form. The style taken from Ca' Dei Vetrai's 1960s glass pieces has been an international hit and widely emulated by workshops known for this specific hand-blown, fluted "swung" style. The base provides excellent physical evidence of authentic manual production; the entire bottom surface has been ground flat and polished. This adds a feature to level the unfinished glass base, a process standard for high-quality hand-blown art glass, ensuring the piece sits securely without wobble. Ground smooth, the rough "pontil mark" where the blowpipe or iron rod was snapped off has been entirely removed. The colored glass ribbons taper and converge right into the center of the base. This flow confirms that the glass was gathered, manipulated, and spun by hand while molten; the edges and body lack any sharp, straight vertical lines often left by machine molds. See less
