This Queen Anne style side table with pull-out serving trays, also referred to as a tea table, is an heirloom … Read more This Queen Anne style side table with pull-out serving trays, also referred to as a tea table, is an heirloom quality, bench-made piece from the renowned Statton Furniture Company out of Hagerstown, Maryland. My parents bought it in the 1970s and used it as part of a living room ensemble which included other pieces from famous makers such as Henkel Harris, Kittinger, and Hickory Chair Company.

The table features 18th-century design elements, including a moulded rim, scalloped apron, cabriole legs, and traditional pad feet. The pull-out slides which are built into the side aprons are fitted with small brass knobs.

Statton’s signature Old Towne finish nicely amplifies the grain of the Appalachian solid cherry wood. Over the past fifty years, the table has developed a warm amber patina, yet it has been well cared for and shows very little signs of use.

The table measures 26" high x 29 ½" wide x 18 ½" deep. When both extension trays are fully extended, the width expands to approximately 46".

My family are the original owners of this table, and it served as the center piece of countless sessions with friends and family. My parents left it with us when they moved to Florida in 1999, and we have kept it in our sitting room since then, but we no longer use it and are downsizing for retirement.
