The pot features a ribbed interior, footed base, central drainage hole, and tie-down holes, with an impressed Japanese kiln mark reading 太陽, or Taiyō, together with a circular emblem and impressed numeral 9.

Dating most likely from the 1970s–2000s, the piece reflects Japanese production bonsai pottery associated with Tokoname-type ware. The fine clay body, regular interior combing, balanced foot construction, and marked base distinguish it from generic modern export containers.
