Vintage Organic Modern David Smyth Lidded Raku Vessel with Twig Detail – 9.5” Tall
Description: An exceptional late-20th-century organic modern studio ceramic lidded vessel by internationally recognized American potter David Smyth. Masterfully thrown, this substantial vessel features a stout, wide-profile cylindrical body with a rich, tactile presence. The piece showcases a classic raku reduction firing, boasting a striking smoky, off-white and light grey carbon-shadowed pattern. The minimalist ceramic body is beautifully contrasted by its lid, which features integrated natural wood twig accents, perfectly embodying a rustic yet highly refined postmodern aesthetic.
David Smyth's celebrated ceramic works are held in prestigious permanent collections, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
