The saint is represented standing in full episcopal vestments, wearing a richly decorated mitre and holding a gilded crozier together with a covered liturgical vessel, traditional attributes associated with his role as bishop. The restrained expression, balanced proportions and solid carving reflect the devotional sculpture produced in Spain during the late Baroque period. The figure preserves a beautiful aged polychrome surface with traces of the original gilding and natural wear acquired through more than two centuries of devotional use. The reverse is carved in the traditional manner, further supporting its intended placement within a church or private chapel. This sculpture combines strong decorative presence with authentic religious character, making it equally suitable for collectors of Spanish sacred art, ecclesiastical antiques or important Baroque interiors.
