The Asian black wooden base is the right size but is not the original one; however, it complements the dome perfectly and dates from roughly the same period—it is actually an antique stand designed for a Chinese vase, ginger jar, or lighting fixture.

A fragile and delicate item featuring authentic handmade glass with small air bubbles and minor irregularities; the fine glass dome is not perfectly symmetrical, but this adds character and demonstrates that it was not machine-made. Glassblowing is a lost art, and hand-blown glass products possess a level of quality, uniqueness, and craftsmanship that sets them apart.
