Large decorative pair of vintage Indian water vessels from a Jacksonville estate. Each vessel has a wonderful round circular body, short neck, and wooden cork stopper. They appear to be hand-worked tin or tinned metal, with brass-toned soldering and seam details that give them great character.
Traditionally, this type of vessel was used to store and carry water, with the rounded flat form designed to be portable and practical. Today they read beautifully as sculptural decorative objects — rustic, architectural, and very striking as a pair. They would look great on a console, pedestal, large shelf, or mixed into a modern interior for texture and history.
The surfaces show lots of age and use, including oxidation, scratches, dents, darkening, old repairs, and brass-toned seams. Not polished or overly restored — the patina is part of the look.
Dimensions:
Each approx. 25” H x 19” W x 8” D
Condition:
Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Surface oxidation, scratches, dents, darkening, patina, and visible brass-toned solder/seam details throughout. Wooden stoppers show wear. Decorative use recommended.
