Many connoisseurs consider this pattern, first created in 1860 for the Rothschild family of Europe, to be the epitome of hand painting on porcelain. Twelve different motifs portray a 19th century tale about Baroness Rothschild, who lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence. Several days later it was found by her gardener, who saw birds playing with it in a tree.
This charming trio of coffee pot, single creamer and mini tureen is adorned with highly detailed birds, foliage and butterflies. The coffee pot lid has a single pink rose atop, and the mini tureen is decorated with half a lemon. The intricacy of the painting and decoration is exquisite.
All 3 pieces in excellent condition. Never used but housed in a cupboard along with other decorative pieces. Creamer measures 3.5"" wide, 2.25"" deep, 3.25"" wide, and 3"" high. Mini tureen measures 5.35"" wide, 3.25"" deep, and 4.25 "" high.
