This … Read more Up for sale is an incredibly rare, museum grade time capsule from Wildwood/Frederick Cooper's iconic Hollywood Regency "Safari Collection". This heavy table lamp, (model no. #3894), features an exquisitely detailed foundry cast solid bronze sculpture of a lucky upturn trunk elephant (signifying prosperity) with a riding monkey mahout beneath a palm canopy, featuring a playful climbing monkey hanging from a leaf.
The lamp has been in storage for over 40 years. It is a flawless museum quality example in near mint vintage condition.. The original oval fabric shade has absolutely no fading, water damage, stains, rips or dry rot. The full bottom fringe is completely intact, The factory wiring and electric cord remain perfectly soft, pliable and safe for immediate use.
Brand & Provenance:
This piece represents a unique historic transition era. The original electric socket and original custom shade are factory stamped Federick Copper. The original hanging paper tag is branded Wildwood This documents the period when Wildwood integrated Federick Coopers legendary Chicago molds and premium parts into their high end catalog.
The 29" high lamp has a gold plated finial. The lamp weighs approximately 20-25#. The oval shade is 21'"x11" and has a full luxury fringe.
