Original watercolor on paper by Henry Emil Salloch, also known as Heinz Emil
Salloch, the German-born American artist and graphic designer who emigrated to the United
States in 1937. This unframed work depicts a traditional Maine fishing harbor and waterfront, featuring iconic red wooden lobster shacks built on stilts over the water. Signed at the bottom left and dated 1948.
The sheet measures approximately 15'' X 20''. Condition is vintage and unrestored, with light toning. Sold unframed.
A strong example of Salloch’s mid-century landscape work, with fluid ink line and transparent
watercolor washes.
