This 69 year old piece is in excellent structural condition with no corrosion and an interior that looks nearly new … Read more This 69 year old piece is in excellent structural condition with no corrosion and an interior that looks nearly new and emits a pleasant cedar aroma. Aside from wear to the top and a little around the edges, the exterior is also in fine shape. Top to bottom details. The horizontal top surface shows wear to the finish, so to not take away from the appearance of the chest as a whole, it will need to be painted or covered to hide it from view. The lock functions properly, and there is a new replacement "Lane" one included. The underside of the top, along with the tray, hinges, and interior of the chest, are all in excellent shape. There are no issues with the metal hardware, such as damage or rust; every piece of cedar is fine, and the felt is very good. The front (exterior) has a minimal amount of wear, and it looks nice overall. The sides are nearly in the same condition, but there is some light "bubbling" of the finish in a couple areas. This is small and would not be noticeable if the chest was not at eye level as it was for us. The right side has two very small spots where the laminate has chipped off. These are both down at the bottom, one at the front corner and one at the rear corner; otherwise, all looks fine. The backside is good with no damage or excessive wear. The underside is excellent with no damage, and the caster wheels swivel and roll as they should. These will be removed for shipping and are quick and easy to reinstall. The lock will also be removed as it was recalled by Lane. It will be included. Please see the pictures for further details.
