this substantial square ashtray or vide-poche features an architectural woven metal structure surrounding a polished chrome-plated body with a deep circular bowl. The combination of geometric lines, handcrafted construction and reflective surfaces perfectly illustrates the sophisticated italian decorative arts of the period.

the underside bears a “lavorato a mano” (handcrafted) mark together with the tb monogram associated with tommaso barbi productions.

condition
good vintage condition with minor signs of age and use. Light oxidation marks inside the bowl and very small losses to the chrome plating, consistent with age. The woven metal structure remains intact and presents beautifully.
