:
Italian-made commode crafted from walnut and poplar. This luxury piece features a three-drawer front, characterized by panel tripartition defined by geometric moldings. Each panel is veneered in rich walnut burl and accented with boxwood stringing. Each drawer is fitted with original hardware. The structure rests on four hand-carved bracket feet supporting the molded base. Directly beneath the top surface, a dentil cornice runs along the entire perimeter. The wooden surface displays the natural walnut grain, exhibiting a warm, uniform brown patina.
Standard restoration process for all our pieces:
– Structural restoration: repair of minor missing elements, sealing of any fissures on the back panel, reinforcement of deteriorated areas, and inspection/repair of metal hardware.
– Thorough anti-woodworm treatment.
– Cleaning and sanitization of the interiors.
– Exterior finish: natural beeswax.
– Interior finish: shellac, a natural alcohol-based varnish.
