Georges Braque ( 1882 - 1963 ) was a major 20th Century French painter, collagist, printmaker, and sculptor. His most important contributions to the history of art were his alliance with Fauvism, and the role he played in the development of Cubism. Closely associated with his colleague Picasso, their respective Cubist works were indistinguishable for many years. Working closely together, thus the invention of The Cubist Style was a joint effort between Braque and Picasso. Artworks by Braque are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
Andre Verdet ( 1913 - 2004 ) was a celebrated French poet, painter, sculptor, musician, and filmmaker. He was a member of The French Resistance, and a Holocaust concentration camp survivor. He wrote books on art, composed exhibition catalogues and collections of his poetry, as well as creating his own artworks in various mediums. After the war he returned to his hometown of Saint-Paul De Vence, in The Cote D'Azur where he met and began to collaborate with many important artists including Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, and Fernand Leger among others.
