A superb, small‑edition original lithograph by Jean‑Paul Moyne, a mid‑century French printmaker celebrated for his luminous architectural studies of Mediterranean villages. Created circa 1960–1970, this work captures Moyne’s hallmark atmosphere: sun‑washed stucco façades, shuttered windows, terracotta roofs, and a quiet ascending street rendered with clarity and warmth.
Printed in France on fine rag paper, the lithograph is hand‑signed in pencil at lower right and numbered 39/45 at lower left—an unusually small edition compared to Moyne’s more common 200–275‑print runs. The reverse retains the original authentication certificate issued by the
Société de Vérification de la Nouvelle Gravure Internationale (Paris) in partnership with The Collector’s Guild Ltd., New York, confirming the work as an original lithograph pulled from a stone or plate that was subsequently defaced.
Presented in its period 1970s gilt frame with linen mat, the piece retains the aesthetic integrity of its original gallery presentation.
Artist
Jean‑Paul Moyne was active during the flourishing postwar era of French atelier printmaking. His works—primarily etchings and lithographs—depict the architectural rhythms of southern France and the Riviera. Distributed internationally through Paris–New York print ateliers, Moyne’s authenticated editions remain sought after for their craftsmanship, atmosphere, and scarcity.
