Amazing rare mid century modern coffee table from the 1950s with a glass top and shelf. Glass slides right on the two grooves to form the table surface right above the shelf. The design is so unique that I have never seen any other table like this before. Every edge and corner is beautifully sculpted. There is no mark found but it looks like something Paul McCobb would have designed for Heywood Wakefield. Wood looks like maple but I'm not completely certain on that. Legs are permanently fixed to the table and not removable. Thickness of glass is 3/8". Unquestionably a one of a kind mid century modern design!
