This attractive and sought after Cathedral form is one of the most known of Silas Seandel designs. Composed of hand-welded metal elements arranged in a highly architectural, abstract composition, evoking a dense cluster of vertical forms. The surface retains a rich, textured patina characteristic of his studio work from this period. Unmarked.
Rising from the sculptural base is a thick, clear glass top that highlights the dimensionality and shadow play of the metal structure beneath. The combination of weight, irregular geometry, and reflective surfaces exemplifies Seandel’s Brutalist approach, balancing industrial materiality with a distinctly artistic, hand-forged quality.
Accompanied by original catalog and maker’s letter to the purchaserer. A strong example of Seandel’s most recognizable design language and a representative piece of American studio Brutalism from his New York workshop.
