Beautifully crafted Chinese trinket or jewelry box. Features a vibrant cinnabar-red and black lacquered wood body adorned with delicate hand-painted gilt scrolling and floral accents. The curved lid features an authentic, inset blue and white porcelain shard depicting a traditional landscape or floral scene.
The blue-and-white porcelain tile embedded in the lid is an authentic shard salvaged from broken antique Chinese vases or plates. These fragments are often much older than the box itself, frequently dating back to the Ming or Qing Dynasties (17th to 19th centuries).
Materials: Lacquered wood, porcelain shard, gilt paint.
