The organic, earthy colors are a wonderful alternative to the traditional gilt finish, and the craft of "grain painted" effect inspired by mahogany or rosewood draws the viewer in for a closer look. The mirror plate appears to be a modern replacement (with only one spot of dark foxing) to offer a clear reflection of any space, in a scale to hang on its own or part of a gallery wall. There are small areas of loss to the frame, mostly concentrated to the upper and lower left. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
