At … Read more A French petite mirror in the Louis XVI style, dating to the 19th century, with gleaming carved giltwood crown. At the top of the piece, an urn overflows with laurel leaves that drape around the upper edges of the frame, suggesting abundance even in small proportions. The mirror plate is surrounded by a low, dentil border and flanked at the lower corners by stylized artichokes which transition into painted wood feet to lift and protect the delicate work. Likely the mirror glass is a modern replacement without foxing or crystals, offering a clear reflection of any room. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
