The delicate imagery of historic references to Chinoiserie and Japonisme are a lovely contrast to the rectilinear geometry of the glass plates in concave arrangement that draws the viewer in. Scrolled patterns and foliate motifs extend from the avian illustration hovering in the centers: the phoenix imagery on the top and bottom panels with a crane to the left and right all oriented for hanging in the vertical position. Rather modest proportions allow this mirror to find a home in many different rooms and decorating styles. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
