California Clay Products (CALCO), So. Gate, CA. 1923-1932
These 3-dimensional tiles depict a version of Mayan-influenced faces and designs. Matte buff glazing. Perfect as a focal point in a fireplace or any other installation. The company was formed by Rufus Keeler, a master ceramicist and glaze expert. He produced many varieties of decorative tiles. He was so successful that he then went on to manage a new company, Malibu Potteries. Sold as a pair., but we have more. We have an extensive collection of CALCO and Malibu tiles with Mayan designs.
