Late 1800s papier-mache chinoiserie gold gilt painted tray. Asian design with elaborate courtyard figural scene and decorative border. Later united on a faux bamboo swept leg base. Beautiful black lacquer finish with gold accents.

The oval table measures about 29 x 23 x 18 inches tall. There are variations as expected in a handcrafted item. Some paint wear and a few dings attest to the charm and antique character of this well loved and used table.
