Classic Danish teak dining table featuring a sculptural trestle base and a clever draw-leaf extension system. Unlike the more common wood-on-wood sliders found on many Danish tables, this example utilizes a geared metal expansion mechanism that allows the table to open smoothly and evenly.
The table measures 63" long by 41.5" wide and expands to 102" with both leaves installed, making it equally suited to everyday dining and larger gatherings. The teak displays beautiful grain and a warm, rich tone throughout.
The extension leaves have spent nearly their entire life stored beneath the tabletop and remain slightly lighter in color than the exposed surfaces, a common characteristic of vintage teak dining tables. The table shows light scratching, scuffing, and other minor signs of use consistent with age, but presents exceptionally well overall.
As this is a solid teak table, it offers the option of refinishing should a future owner wish to achieve a perfect color match between the leaves and main surface while eliminating minor surface wear. That said, it is an attractive and highly functional table exactly as it sits today.
