Initially produced under the label Fly Line in the 1970s and later licensed to the brand Alias, it earned its nickname from the distinctive, flexible PVC cords used to form the seat and backrest. These chairs are celebrated as mid-century and postmodern design classics, and the original model is even included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. See less
