The copper bodies are richly decorated with an all over pattern of stylised chrysanthemums and scrolling foliage in the most striking shades of blue and green enamel, ranging from deep cobalt blue to the darkest green, all contained within fine copper wire cloisons. The contrast between the glowing enamel and the warm copper wire rims gives these pieces an almost jewel like quality that photographs simply cannot do justice.
Both vases sit on turquoise blue enamel bases and are in good condition, with no enamel loss. They have been gently polished, lending them a lovely warmth and patina that only comes with age.
