Description: An exceptional and highly expressive antique Chinese carved wood figure depicting Guan Yu (Guan Gong), the revered Three Kingdoms general and Daoist deity of war, loyalty, and wealth. The warrior god is masterfully captured standing in a powerful, authoritative posture atop a rugged crag base.He wears traditional, heavily layered military armor featuring a meticulously carved defensive dragon (taotie) motif over the midsection. His official robes drape elegantly around his frame, retaining fragments of historic polychrome pigments in deep greens, blues, and reds. His face features a fierce, stern expression, framed by heavy, stylized brows and his iconic flowing "Beautiful Beard." In his right hand, he holds a separate, removable pole weapon representing his legendary Green Dragon Crescent Blade (Yanyuedao).The underside of the naturally formed wood base features an inset, rectangular red seal mark reading Guangnan Guan Yao.
