"Pour Roby (L’Age de Soleil) authenticated original etching by Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). Depicts an abstract portrait of Robert J. Godet (1921-1960), Picasso's friend and neighbor. Godet was a French editor and writer who was active in the French Resistance.
Excellent, undamaged condition. Authentication seal verso issued from Société de Vérification de la Gravure Internationale of New York and Paris, certifying this is an original etching by Pablo Picasso. This etching was printed on Arches paper in 1969 during Picasso's lifetime from the original plate published by the Collector's Guild, Catalog No. Bloch 680. Signed by the artist in the plate before going to print with reverse signature.
The frame measures 22" height, 18" width; the plate impression is 9"x7", paper area 13.5" x 10.5". The piece is from the estate collection of artist Jerry DiFalco..
