Entirely hand-decorated on the exterior with the "Hundred Poets" (Hyakunin Isshu) scene in polychrome enamels over a pure gold background, and on the interior with dense micro-calligraphy of ideograms. Complete with a shaped and carved dark wood base. In excellent vintage condition, intact, free of cracks or chips, with the enamel, gilding, and calligraphy magnificently preserved.
