majolica and vitrified ceramic box, entirely hand-crafted on a lathe, with a stylized bird in bas-relief on the lid. Glazed with thick, compact, very hard majolica glazes in canary yellow, it is crafted in true art deco style. Signed under the base with an incised signature "rp castellamonte" by roberto perino. The ceramic used is extremely hard, and the bas-relief in the shape of a bird on the lid is particularly beautiful. Its contours are more defined in the center and gradually soften toward the edges. This, combined with the rich yellow glaze, creates a fading effect, a truly classy touch.
