A magnificent pair of oval-shaped two-handled vases with an elongated neck and flared mouth, crafted from the finest Japanese porcelain. The vases are embellished with two hand-painted oval reserves on both the front and back. The four paintings, each unique, depict evocative views of a lake landscape with lush vegetation, evoking the pictorial style of the French Barbizon School of the late 19th century. Both vases are signed under the base in green by the famous Japanese manufacturer "Noritake" and date to the early 20th century. The pair is richly decorated in pure gold relief, with numerous elegant ruby red and cobalt blue enamel beads. This refined workmanship is performed using the Moriage technique, a traditional Japanese decorative method used primarily on ceramics and porcelain (such as Satsuma porcelain or Dragonware). It involves manually applying layers of glaze or clay to create raised designs, giving the object a distinctive and prestigious three-dimensional effect.
About the artist and/or manufacturer:
Noritake's story begins when a group of Japanese entrepreneurs, including the Morimura brothers, founded their company in Noritake, a district of Nagoya, Japan. Initially, the company produced traditional Japanese ceramics and decorative objects. Over time, Noritake has successfully combined ancient craftsmanship with technical innovation, creating pieces that have conquered the international market for their exceptional artistic quality. Its porcelain, characterized by a pure body and refined designs, stands out worldwide for its delicacy and meticulous detailing. Every Noritake creation is the result of a meticulous production process that blends traditional techniques with cutting-edge technologies, making each piece unique and precious. Today, the Japanese manufacturer Noritake represents absolute excellence in the world of porcelain, a global symbol of elegance and craftsmanship. This piece has an attribution mark,
