A beautifully crafted Danish studio pottery vase by Michael Andersen & Son, produced on the island of Bornholm. The vessel features a gently tapered cylindrical form decorated with a striking flowing glaze in deep cobalt blue, turquoise, and ice-blue tones. The glossy glaze cascades over the body, creating an organic landscape-like effect that contrasts elegantly with the unglazed stoneware base. Founded in the late 19th century by Jens Michael Andersen in Rønne, Bornholm, Michael Andersen & Son became one of Denmark's most celebrated pottery workshops, renowned for its innovative glazing techniques and exceptional craftsmanship. Pieces from the pottery are typically marked with the iconic three-herring symbol, derived from the coat of arms of Rønne. with its rich coloration and sculptural simplicity, this vase is an excellent example of Scandinavian studio ceramics and mid-century Danish design.
