The form is full and generously proportioned — deep seat, rounded arms that curve softly outward, and a tall back with two shaped ear wings flanking a diamond-tufted panel. The tufting runs in a pointed gothic grid across the lower back, secured with small fabric buttons and divided by twisted cord trim. The same cord trim defines the arm profile and the seat edge, where it runs the full perimeter of the base. The velvet has a dense, short pile and a warm moss tone that shifts slightly in different light. The underside reveals the original spring construction — hand-tied coil springs on woven jute webbing over a solid beech frame, all original and intact. Short dark turned wood feet at the front. Well-scaled for a reading chair and comfortable in proportion. See less
