Maker: jitona soběslav
these armchairs are a wonderful example of iconic czechoslovak mid-century modern design from the 1960s. They were manufactured by the prominent national enterprise jitona soběslav, which at the time ranked among the most important producers of high-quality veneered and solid wood furniture in the country. This model perfectly blends elegance, functionality, and timeless comfort, making it a highly sought-after piece among design enthusiasts.
the foundation of the armchairs is a solid beechwood frame that stands out with its clean, organically shaped armrests and a subtle yet dynamic silhouette. All pieces are in excellent condition; the frames are rigid and perfectly stable. During a sensitive restoration process, the original wood polish was revived on all wooden elements, bringing back the material's natural warmth, depth, and soft luster.
the seats and backrests retain their original upholstery, which features an elegant, finely textured vertical stripe pattern in warm, earthy tones. The fabric has been professionally cleaned, is in highly preserved condition, and is ready for immediate use. These chairs offer exceptionally comfortable, ergonomic seating. Thanks to their versatile and timeless aesthetic, they will effortlessly complement a retro-inspired interior as well as minimalist modern spaces.
it has been re-polished with polyutherane piano lacquer by our professional refurbishing team in czechia according to the original process.
this item features classic mid-century modern (mcm) design elements.
