This Louis XIV frame features fine carvings with plant motifs and acanthus leaf scrolls. The gilding and bronze plating are original, and it is in excellent condition; it has not undergone any restoration. This type of frame was typically used to embellish religious paintings or to hold mirrors in noble salons.
