When a beautiful Black Forest antique frame is paired with an antique water color, one has to admire the coming together of two types of artworks.

This antique frame is referred to as a Black Forest frame. The highly carved corners criss cross with an applied carved leaf design. The inside edge of the frame is gilt painted wood which gives this piece a more elevated feel.

The small water color painting is behind glass. It depicts a small pond with birds. There are flowers and trees. The painting also mirrors the frame with a branch like image surrounding the pond area.
There is a small inscription written on the bottom of the painting. See photos.
The painting is behind a light colored mat.

We have not removed the painting from the frame.
In good condition with minor surface wear.
