Crafted with richly figured bird's-eye maple veneers throughout, the piece is distinguished by extensive faux bamboo moldings framing the doors, drawers, sides, cornice, and upper gallery.

The tall double-door cabinet opens to a spacious hanging interior fitted with original hooks, while two lower drawers provide additional storage. Particularly noteworthy is the architectural bamboo gallery crowning the case, a feature seldom encountered and indicative of the whimsical exoticism popular in turn-of-the-century French design.

The warm honey-gold finish beautifully highlights the dramatic figuring of the bird's-eye maple veneer, creating visual depth and movement across every surface. Elegant proportions, exceptional decorative detail, and unusual construction make this an outstanding statement piece for a bedroom, dressing room, entry hall, or boutique interior.

A scarce example of French faux bamboo furniture from the early twentieth century. The armoire is constructed in the traditional French knock-down manner, with major components joined by wooden pegs and fitted connections rather than being permanently fixed. The upper crown section seats into place with alignment pegs, allowing the piece to be disassembled for transport. A later stabilizing screw appears to have been added along one side to secure the assembly and prevent movement. It is also on rollers so a bit easier to move.
