Shakespeare Inspired Prints by Alice & Martin Provensen, celebrated artists known primarily for their children's book illustrations. These 2 charming prints are prints of illustrations from Shakespeare's Macbeth & King Henry IV . Perfect art for the bibliophile and Shakespeare fan.
In 1962, Golden Press, New York published a book "Shakespeare 10 Great Plays", and it was illustrated by Alice & Martin Provensen. These prints were part of series of prints that Golden Press released in 1962. They are not pages from the book (the prints are large than the size of the book). I don't know how many prints were in the original series, but have seen 6. Perhaps there were 10 for the "10 Great Plays"?
They are beautifully framed w/ linen matting ~ although they are slightly different sizes, they work well together.

Macbeth: 17" wide x 17" tall x 1.25" deep
Henry the Fifth: 16.5" wide x 17.5" wide x 1.25" deep
