I paint in the traditional style of old masters because I am drawn to the charisma of that era. For me, creating art is a patient ritual. At the heart of my process is the careful preparation of the painting surface. Ultimately my goal is for the person viewing my work to experience a pause, a moment to reflect. The red phone box is a symbol of England’s identity, dependability and historic public service. They now operate as mini libraries.
