This Chinese porcelain vase lamp features a distinctive silhouette and intricate, hand-painted decorations characteristic of traditional Asian porcelain art. The body resembles a classic Chinese "bottle" or "baluster" vase shape. It has an elongated cylindrical neck hand painted using the iron red background which is more desirable and harder to come by. The traditional "Boys at Play" (Hundred Boys) motif, which is a classic Chinese theme symbolizing wishes for many sons, prosperity, and family. The lower part's bulbous shape - Tongzi, also is symbolizing good fortune and prosperity.
On opposite sides of the upper neck, there are two sculptural, stylized gilded openwork dragon or phoenix side handles with attached rings, typical of larger Chinese decorative balance vases. The intricate, dark reddish-brown background swirl pattern is adorned with lotus blossoms, scrollwork, and auspicious bats, characteristic of Late Qing Dynasty. The colors utilize a classic Famille Rose (Fencai) scheme. It features prominent pinks, pastel blues, greens, corals, and gold accents to highlight the floral borders and falls under the umbrella of Canton Famille Rose or Rose Mandarin porcelain, specialized styles produced in Guangdong (Canton) for the Western market
