This metaform coffee table proves that leaving things out is sometimes harder than adding them. Anyone looking at the table sees essentially only a rectangular plane that appears to float above four slender legs. No decoration, no visible construction, and no superfluous details. Everything revolves around proportion, material, and precision. This version belongs to model s16 and was manufactured by the dutch company metaform. The design aligns with the movement of dutch minimalism, in which technology, architecture, and functionality come together without being overtly present. The frame consists of sleekly welded square steel tubular profiles finished in a light grey powder coating. A granite composite top rests upon this. This durable material combines the appearance of natural stone with high wear resistance and practical ease of use. Because the top rests loosely on the frame, a small shadow line is created between the two components. A subtle detail that gives the table a light and almost floating appearance, despite the weight of the top. It is precisely this simplicity that makes this design so contemporary. The table feels just as at home in an interior influenced by japandi or contemporary belgian design as in a modernist home where architecture and materials take center stage. We have carefully cleaned the table and treated it with the appropriate maintenance products. Slight signs of use are visible on the frame where the tabletop supports.
