This evocative collection brings together celebrated depictions of Italian folk life, including the Saltarello and Tarantella dances, as well as the traditional Roman game Ruzzola. Each scene captures the movement, rhythm, and social spirit of Italy’s regional customs.

The lithographs are after notable artists who depicted Italian popular life in the early to mid-1800s, including Jean-Baptiste Thomas (1791–1834), Bartolomeo Pinelli (1781–1835), and Gaetano Dura (1805–1878). Their works were instrumental in documenting the costumes, dances, and recreational traditions of the time and are represented in the collections of major international museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British Museum, and the National Gallery of Art, among others.

The soft, hand-applied watercolor coloring enhances the expressive lithographic linework, while the coordinated framing unifies the set into a refined decorative ensemble. Whether displayed as a complete series or individually, these works bring movement, history, and European flair to your interior. Perfect for collectors of antique prints, Grand Tour art, Italian cultural history, or refined period décor.
