Federal Period Steeple Top Andirons
This pair of fine American federal brass steeple-top andirons was passed down through the family of Potter Palmer, who was a well known businessman and philanthropist, originally from Boston, who developed the “Gold Coast” along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Chicago in the 1800s and also built the famous Palmer House Hotel. These were purchased from the family estate and came from their Boston home. Ca. 1790-1810, A stunning pair in excellent condition. Measuring 22-1/2" tall by 11" wide at the base.
