Artem zakharchenko is an architect and designer whose work spans from jewelry to monumental lighting. After receiving his master of architecture, he studied product design at the istituto europeo di design in florence. This dual background defined his sculptural approach to functional objects, leading to his first exhibition at paris design week in 2017. In 2019 he founded svitanok. The studio is built on the architectural tradition of scale transformation. A single refined shape can be realized as a delicate silver earring or scaled up into a massive floor lamp. Svitanok does not rely on standard manufacturing. Every piece is an exploration of raw materiality. The studio works with a diverse range of elements, from proprietary ceramic glazes and hand-blown glass to natural wood. These are juxtaposed with hand-worked metals, using techniques from complex patinas to hammered textures. The name svitanok translates as dawn. The interplay of light, shadow and architectural volume is the foundation of the brand. Today the studio’s trajectory is marked by significant industry recognition, including being longlisted for dezeen’s emerging design studio of the year and shortlisted for the red dot award. Svitanok's objects are frequently selected for major international projects, including sculptural installations commissioned for hbo in new york. The focus remains clear: to create spatial anchors that project a bold vision while honoring physical craftsmanship. See less
