Original oil on canvas signed “Molly Conviser” and dated 1966 lower right. The painting depicts a barefoot young dancer wearing a vibrant red skirt and dark blouse in a dramatic Expressionist style.
The composition closely recalls the dancer subjects associated with American artist Moses Soyer and appears to have been inspired by, or painted after, one of his well-known dancer studies. Rather than a mechanical reproduction, this work appears to be an original hand-painted interpretation executed in oil on canvas.
Presented in its original vintage wood and gilt frame with linen liner. The frame and liner show age-related wear consistent with age and use.
A striking mid-century figurative work with strong decorative appeal and theatrical presence.
