This artwork, titled "Cadre Noir," 1976 is an original etching with aquatint, collage and hand painted embellishment, printed on Richard De Bas paper, by Spanish artist Antoni , 1923-2012. It is signed and numbered 23/50 in pencil by the artist. The image size is 7.5 x 11 inches, the sheet size is 13 x 20 inches. Referenced and pictured in the artist's catalogue raisonnee by Galfetti, plate #575. It is beautifully framed in a custom wooden black and silver frame, with silver bevel and fabric matting.
Antoni T'pies was a Spanish painter, sculptor and art theorist, who became one of the most famous European artists of his generation. His work can be seen in major museums and collections around the world. T'pies was perhaps the best-known Spanish (Catalan) artist to emerge in the period since the Second World War. Throughout the span of his life Antoni T'pies has been associated with a number movements such as Art Informel and Haute P'te or Matter Painting.
