It is signed … Read more This artwork "Two Women with Chess" 1977 is a mixed media by German artist Adam Niemczyc, 1914-2009. It is signed at the lower right corner by the artist. The artwork size is 24 x 20.5 inches, framed size is 29 x 24.5 inches. It is custom framed in a clear acrylic box, with fabric matting. The artwork is in excellent condition, the box have some scratches and the matting have a 2 inches discoloration at the lower right corner.

About the artist:

Adam Niemczyc was a German painter and graphic artist. He studied at the Jan Kazimierz University.
During the war, he stayed in Budapest, where he began painting studies and graduated from the Academy in Krakow in 1948. In 1949, he obtained a doctorate in art history at the Jagiellonian University.
He has been exhibiting since 1958 (Warsaw), he also had many individual exhibitions abroad, incl. at Galerie Zak in Paris (1961), Cassel Gallery in London (1963), Bodley Gallery in New York. See less
