A deeply evocative, heavily oxidized devotional piece featuring an uncleaned, crusty tarnish, a highly stylized architectural plinth, and a prominent, flame-like crown protuberance. Hand-cast via ancient lost-wax sand molds, this compact masterpiece stands out as one of the most raw, visibly ancient treasures within the collection. Shifting beautifully from ornate scrollwork designs, this miniature icon captures the minimalist, meditative power of Southeast Asian folk casting. The figure is seated in absolute repose in the half-lotus position (Sattvasana), with hands folded softly over the lap in the classic Dhyana Mudra of deep meditation and internal stillness. Despite measuring just 4.75 inches tall, the silhouette carries an incredible presence, dominated by a stylized, multi-tiered crown that culminates in a long, dramatic, flame-like ushnisha spire arching gracefully backward.
The facial features are distilled into a primitive, deeply peaceful expressionism with downcast eyes and long, traditional elongated earlobes that frame a strong neck line. The Buddha is cast permanently atop a highly unusual, stylized architectural throne—a smooth, wide, flared triangular pedestal that curves organically outward toward the bottom rim. What truly sets this piece apart for high-end curation is its spectacular, untouched surface character. The heavy metal alloy is completely enveloped in a thick, authentic crust of dark chocolate tarnish and deeply weathered oxidation, accented by tiny, deeply set golden highlights peek through from generations of ritual handling. It serves as an incredibly high-signal conversational artifact, bringing an instant layer of museum-style soul, texture, and global history to an editorial built-in tray, an intimate shelf arrangement, or styled side-by-side with modern ceramic vessels.

The solid casting carries a surprising physical weight for its small footprint and sits completely stable on its integrated circular lotus base. The metal surface purposefully exhibits rich, honest handling wear, natural oxidation, and distinct fragments of an antique painted finish native to generations of authentic devotional handling. less
