A truly monumental and sculptural pair of mid-century modern art glass vases designed and produced by the prestigious Swedish glassworks, Strömbergshyttan, circa 1950s/1960s.
Characterized by their epic architectural scale and heavy, thick-walled geometry, these vases are crafted in Strömbergshyttan’s world-renowned, signature ice-blue glass. The subtle, pale blue-silver hue reacts beautifully with light, giving the impression of chiselled glacial ice.
The set forms a perfect, graduated sculptural pairing:
The Large Architectural Slab Vase: An imposing, minimalist centrepiece featuring a sweeping rim and immense visual weight at 32cm height.
The Medium Matching Geometric Vase: A matching chunky geometric form that beautifully mirrors the proportions of its larger companion at 17cm height.
Both pieces carry an undeniable artistic presence, making them standout collector's items or high-impact decorative statements for a modernist interior, console, or sideboard.
Condition & Authenticity Report
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or fleabites. The glass exhibits brilliant optical clarity and a high-gloss finish.
Authenticity: Fully authenticated. Both pieces retain their original factory Strömbergshyttan Sweden foil labels. The base features the authentic, hand-engraved signature and catalogue serial numbers.
Light, age-appropriate shelf wear is present on the underside of the bases.
